By far, 1X2 betting is the
most popular bet type among
the new and experience
punters. 1X2 odds
is easy
understand and straight
forward where punter predict
the outcome of a game.
I am pretty sure that any
punter will start off their
betting journey with 1X2
odds and follow by
other
most complicated bet types.
However there are something
that you should know about
1X2 odds, as it reflects the
probability of the each
outcome in a game which
explains so well that the
lower odds have better
chance of winning and higher
odds is harder to occur.
How do sports bookies set
the 1X2 odds value for "Home
win", "Draw" and "Away win"
?
This is an easy question
but not many punters can
answer it.
A common method of
forecasting the outcome of a
game is to look at the
previous match results
during the current season
and perhaps last season too
in order to estimate chances
of a result.
By cross referencing the
"home form" of the hosts
with the "away form" of the
visiting team we can
calculate a rough guide to
the game.
Example :
Assume the home team last 10
games result are 7-2-1 and
away team last 10 games
result are
1-3-6
Derives from above data:
Calculate the 1X2 winning odds for Home
Sum up the Home team's
win and Away team's lose /
20 * 100
= (7 + 6) / 20 * 100
= 13 / 20 * 100
= 65
Take 100/65 =
1.53
Calculate the 1X2 winning odds for Draw
Sum up the Home
team's draw and Away team's
draw / 20 * 100
= (2 + 3) / 20 * 100
= 5 / 20 * 100
= 25
Take 100/25 =
