Germany
Low's Germany have come through Group B with a perfect record of 3 wins from 3 and made a mockery of the Group of Death tag. Up next for a place in the last 4 are Greece in a game that the Germans are heavily odds on for.

Germany will be delighted with how Group A panned out with Low's side avoiding Russia and eventual group winner Czech Republic. To be honest I felt the two best sides in the group were eliminated from group A so to face Greece for a place in the last 4 is a great opportunity for the Germans.

Wins over Portugal (1-0), Holland (2-1) and Denmark (2-1) mixed in class and performance. In the Portugal game, the opposition came looking for a point and it took a late winner to settle the game. Against Holland, the Germans were flawless for 45 minutes racing into a 2-0 lead. They let Holland come at them in the second half but were never out of second gear for the win. Finally, the Danes proved to be stern opposition and had chances at 1-1 to win the game only for another late winner to separate the sides.

Gomez is the main man so far with 3 goals and he has clearly put his shocker in the Champions League behind him. It was also good to see Podolski score meaning 2 of the front 3 have scored and as a result there is no pressure on Gomez to score all the goals.

The only worry at this stage is just the 1 clean sheet. However, given all of the opposition are top 10 in the World sides I may be harsh. Plus Van Persie scored a stunner and Krohn-Dehli's goal was from poor marking at a corner. The Greeks are not known for scoring goals so the Germans may be better suited to face them from a defensive point of view.

Greece
Fernando Santos has done a marvelous job to get the Greeks out of the groups and into the last 8. Unfortunately up next is a brutal game against Germany which many are expecting to see a routine win for the Germans.

People are underestimating this side, with just 2 losses in 23 I think they carry a real threat to Germany. The problem as with recent Greek sides is that they find it hard to score more than once if at all!

In the group stages they scored 1 v Poland, 1 v Czechs and yep, you've guessed it 1 v Russia. Still, those 3 goals were good enough to end with 4 points and because of head to head they took second place ahead of Russia.

At the back the side conceded 1 to Poland and 2 to the Czechs but remarkably kept Russia out in a 1-0 win. I say remarkably because Russia had 5 goals in their 2 previous games as well as 30+ shots at the Greek goal. But come the end of the game, it was Greece 1-0 and if they can replicate this backs to the wall display whilst keeping up their goal scoring run, who knows, another 1-0 win?

Betting Verdict
Obviously Germany are the favourites and the prices of 1.36 is probably right given they are the favourites to win this and Greece the biggest outsiders.

I'm struggling with an angle for this game from a betting point of view. Germany will score, of that I'm sure but for some reason I feel Greece will and as a result that rules out any handicap or to nil bets on the Germans.

I've also noticed Germany to score 2 or more is odds on too so with that in mind I think Low's side will win this game. 2-0/2-1 could be a decent dutch but instead I will go with a wincast bet.

Gomez is the man in this team and with over half of the teams goals, if there is a chance to score I'm sure he will take it. Germany should have all the ball and at odds against I fully expect a German win with Super Mario contributing on the way.
