Germany have rolled to 3 wins in the group stage, beating Denmark, Portugal and Holland to reach the QF for the 5th time in Euro history. In each of their previous 4 QF matches here they have won and then gone on to the finals. Their current form is quite brilliant, winning 14 straight competitive games, a national record!

Greece have been to the QF of the Euro once before, back in 2004 when they upset France and went all the way to win the tournament. However, they are not playing well at all, despite what your saw against Russia. Greece have scored just 1 goal in each of their group matches, and have actually scored no more than that in their last 8 matches. They concede too unfortunately, so only 2 of those 8 games have been wins.

Greece deserve to be here though as they have shown fight, with that goal against Poland to level it now proving so vital. There was a loss against the Czech Republic but the team bounced back with a solid display against Russia. I do think they were helped by Russia not performing to their capabilities.

The Greek will be missing 2 very important men for this game, captain and scorer of that winner against Russia, Giorgos Karagounis, who is suspended. Goalkeeper Kostas Chalkias is injured and unlikely to get better in time. Jose Holebas is also suspended but it isn't as big a blow to the team as the previous two. In contrast, Germany have everyone fit, with Boateng also now better and likely to be named in the starting lineup.

The odds on the German win are about right. No one expects anything but a win for Germany and it will likely be easier than Portugals win over the Czech Republic, which was laboured and required a very late goal to settle it. Germany will not be able to blow past Greece, who can defend frustratingly well. However, they will not hold out for long and should be trailing before we get to the 60 minute mark.

BETTING VERDICT
Germany will win, and in my opinion it will be by more than just a goal. It makes sense then to take them on the AH giving up 1.5 ball but I think I can narrow it down to an exact margin and will take the gamble chasing big profits by having a flutter on Germany to win by a 2 goal margin.
